NRM postpons village polls
Grassroots elections for the ruling National Resistance Movement Party begin today across the country.
President Yoweri Museveni warns that NRM officials who will try to mess up the party elections will be punished, stressing that the party belongs to the people who should choose the leaders they want.
In his message to party members across the country, Mr. Museveni also clarifies that all NRM members are equal irrespective of when they joined the party and are free to serve in any office they want.
The President further reveals that elections in Lango Sub region will commence tomorrow, and appeals to party members in the area to entice new members.
In order to avoid unnecessary confusion, the party chairman directs that voters’ registers must be accurate and must contain NRM members in the villages and those who work in those areas.HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM RADIO ONE
