Stampede after a bomb scare at a school
Business came to a standstill at Kampala secondary school early today after a bomb scare was reported at the school premises.
Kampala Metropolitan Police commander Andrew Sorowen says the police anti terrorism squad moved in only to find a polythene bag which contained electric cables.Meanwhile another bomb scare was reported along Jinja Road opposite the Electoral Commission when passengers cited an object in a taxi which they mistook for a bomb.
Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba says that the passengers who were travelling in the taxi registration number UAM 422F, were forced abandon it out of panic.
In a related development Police blocks a demonstration by a group of IPC women early today.
Police deployed at the offices of the National Alliance For Free and Fair elections they protested against the arrest of one of thier member.
One of the women Aisha Nakiranda was arrested during the incident.
