Ugandan EALA representative Mike Sebalu asks the African Union and the East African Community (EAC) to engage warring parties in the DRC in political dialogue to find lasting solution
Sebalu says peace has eluded the largest African country which is also endowed with many minerals since colonial time mainly because the political actors have not realized how important it is to have peace and democracy
Currently the DRC Government forces are battling the M23 rebels and this conflict is threatening regional peace even as efforts are underway to hold a meeting to contain it
Sebalu says the situation in the DRC should be a major concern to the African continent and most especially the EAC given its potential to help in economic development connected to its natural resources and population
He says that a political process would encourage the DRC to have leaders who are acceptable to the population
