Last year’s Uganda Certificate of Education Examination Results have been released indicating an improvement in the overall performance.
Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB Secretary Mathew Bukenya says female candidates performed better in English and literature subjects while their male counterparts excelled in other largely entry subjects.
Bukenya says there was poor performance recorded in science subject especially in private schools.
He says UNEB is holding results of 1,631 students for examination malpractice
Meanwhile Education Minister Jessica Alupo says the Ministry is investigating a number of teachers for examination malpractice after receiving information that some students were assisted by the teachers during the examinations.
This during the release of the results at Nakawa Vocational Institute early today.
