Best performing entrepreneurs are to be recognized for their efforts, thanks to the Association of Microfinance of Uganda and the Citigroup.

The Citi Bank Uganda managing director Chinedu Ikwudinma says that this year the Citi Foundation is committing 75,000 US dollars to the Awards program to encourage micro entrepreneurs.

The program has been running for eight years, with several institutions and individual entrepreneurs benefiting, according to AMFIU Executive Director David Baguma.

Launching the program at the Citi Bank offices in Kampala Friday, State Minister for Microfinance Caroline Okao hailed the initiative that she hoped would help in alleviating poverty.
